D.H.H. MacKenzie Award

This is one of the most prestigious Awards given by HHUC, honouring Don MacKenzie: Friend, Mentor, Physician, Scuba pioneer, Professor

For more than five decades “Dr. Don” served Hart House, the University of Toronto and its students as a Physician at the U of T Health Service, a Professor in the School of Physical and Health Education, a Leader on Hart House Committees beginning as an undergrad, a Founder and Builder of the Hart House Underwater Club, an Innovative Scuba Instructor with the Underwater Club and with the School of Physical and Health Education. He was a Contributor of many gifts to the University and to the community, and most of all, an Educator who put students first with a unique talent to involve and motivate.  In addition to all this, Dr. D.H.H. MacKenzie was a man who enjoyed life’s journey … hence the signature silver goblet.

As stated on the plaque, “In honour and recognition of Don MacKenzie’s enthusiastic leadership in training and all club activities, this Award is presented for outstanding club participation.”

The award is not presented every year.
